Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested during the late hours of Thursday over the anti-ICE protests that stormed a Minnesota church during a Sunday service, as per his attorney.
More details shared include how he was taken into custody by federal agents last night in Los Angeles, where he was said to be covering the Grammy Awards.
{img}Lemon reportedly spent the night in jail and is expected to make a first appearance in court sometime today, as per the chief analyst for Lemon's former network.
His attorney detailed more on how the frequently fired correspondent was part of the pack that stormed into St. Paul church while working as a journalist, making it constitutionally protected work.
{img}His lawyer says the First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role is to shine light on the truth and hold those in power accountable. This is the same lawyer who worked for the former first son, Hunter Biden.
Don is expected to fight these charges vigorously in court, but it's not immediately clear which charges were placed upon him at the time of the arrest. However, he is accused of violating the Enforcement Act of 1871, which bans interference with certain civil rights like voting or serving on juries, or in this case, the right to practice one's religion.
