A private business jet reportedly crashed while taking off from Maine's Bangor International Airport late Sunday evening.
The incident resulted in a major emergency response and a tragic loss of life.
As per preliminary reports from the FAA, the Bombardier Challenger 600 aircraft was carrying eight people, and it attempted to make a departure at about 7:45 pm local time amid a severe winter storm with heavy snow impacting much of the region.

The plane reportedly flipped over and caught fire after it left the runway, coming to rest in an upside-down position on the airfield.
Early FAA information indicated that seven people on board were killed, and one crew member did manage to survive with serious injuries.

Authorities are yet to disclose the identities of those victims or any of the survivors, as local officials declined to provide detailed passenger data as the investigation continues.
