Prince Harry Issues Strong Statement After Trump Questions NATO Allies’ Role After 9/11: 'I Lost Friends'

Prince Harry has publicly rebuked U.S. President Donald Trump after the president questioned the role of NATO allies in the war in Afghanistan. He stated that they stayed a little back, a little off the front lines, and suggested that the US had never really asked anything of them.

The remarks from Trump made their way through a recent interview, which drew sharp criticism from leaders and veterans across Europe for diminishing the contributions and sacrifices of allied forces.

In the statement, Harry emphasized how NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in its history, obligating allied countries to provide support for the US mission.

After that, he recalled making some lifelong friends and losing pals in the combat.

He also noted how the UK alone lost more than 450 soldiers and service personnel, so their sacrifices cannot be left out, and therefore, the truth deserves to be spoken with respect.

His remarks were nearly an echo of British PM Sir Keir Starmer, who slammed the President's terms as insulting and shocking, requesting an apology.
