Local cops described the incident as a very devastating one. Investigators, including those in the West Vancouver Police Department, have shared that there were no signs of mechanical or technical failure in sight that could be traced to the chairlift alone.

Available evidence also suggested that the fall did not take place due to any malfunction of this lift system. Due to this, the case was turned over to the coroner's office for a more detailed examination of what happened.
