Biggest nurses strike in NYC history turns ‘deadly

New York City is facing a massive strike featuring thousands of nurses who have decided to walk off the job in the city's leading hospitals.

Common names of health care centers that have been impacted include the Mount Sinai, Montefiore Medical Center, and the New York Presbyterian. Experts have referred to the matter as a concerning one, as it's being outlined as the largest strike that the city has ever seen in a really long time.

Members of the New York State Nurses Association demanded better staffing ratios, higher pay scales, improved benefits, and stronger protections against workplace violations.

Union leaders claim the strike has led to compromised patient care, alleging that temporary replacement nurses lack the right kind of experience that is required for critical

care monitoring.

They mentioned how they're contributing to three patient deaths at Mount Sinai. Also, hospital officials are not revealing the truth and continue to strongly deny these allegations, calling the statement made by the unions inaccurate.
