Woman Dies After Riding Revenge of the Mummy Roller Coaster at Universal Orlando

A 70-year-old woman reportedly passed away while she was riding the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster ride at Universal Orlando Resort in Florida.

According to new data shared with the press recently, the incident occurred in November of last year, highlighting how the passenger of the ride became unresponsive quickly after sitting on the indoor high-speed ride.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later passed away. Officials did not publicly release their identity orthe detailed medical cause of death. The quarterly report entailed only basic details about reported incidents and did not provide follow-up data on patrons' conditions beyond initial reports.

Revenge of the Mummy, which is an indoor coaster that's known for its dark Egyptian theming, fire effects, and sudden 39-foot drop, could attain speeds around 40 mph. Since the grand opening at Universal Studios in 2004, the ride appeared on state safety reports several times for non-fatal medical concerns. People are said to have suffered extreme dizziness and nausea, while some attained fractures. However, deaths linked to this ride were reportedto be rare.
