Haunting new images have been shared online that captured the exact moment when lit sparklers inside champagne bottles ignited the ceiling at the Le Constellation nightclub in Switzerland.
The news comes as officials have now confirmed that the flames were behind the horrific New Year's Eve fire, which left close to 100 people seriously hurt.
{img}'Some hypotheses can be confirmed'- one person shared. 'As things stand, everything is pointing to the fire that began from sparklers or flames placed in champagne bottles that came too close to the ceiling, which very quickly led to flashover fire,' they added.
The very distressing image showed flames starting to spread over the low ceiling as unsuspecting revelers waved the sparklers and bottles high in the air at the doomed nightclub.
{img}The incident arose at the Crans-Montana ski resort in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Another picture showed a woman in a crash helmet holding up lit bottles while being carried back on the shoulders of a masked man.
