At least three people have lost their lives in a devastating avalanche attack that struck the Panticosa ski resort in northern Spain near the French border.
A woman is said to be struggling with hypothermia as elite mountain rescue teams rushed to the scene of the tragedy. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at about 1 pm this afternoon.
{img}Startling reports suggested two deaths, right before authorities later confirmed that a third person had also passed away in this tragedy.
Another two individuals were said to have escaped unhurt. The avalanche is said to have struck near the Tablato mountain peak and involved a group of six people. The nationalities of those who died were yet to be shared, although officials did confirm that one of the victims was a female.
{img}Elite officers from the Civil Guard's Greim Mountain rescue and search unit were seen rushing for mobilization.
They're currently working at the scene together as recovery efforts continue on this front. Regional government head Jorge Azcon mentioned how he was so shocked by the accident and expressed his condolences and an immediate investigation into this matter.
