Melania Trump was recently seen praising Russian President Vladimir Putin and his leadership on child reunifications, despite Donald Trump’s latest push for peace with Ukraine falling short.
The 55-year-old First Lady rolled out a statement from the White House on Thursday, where she declared that seven Ukrainian kids were taken during the Russian invasion.
{img}Now, after their safe return, she turned back to thank Putin and even went as far as to praise the entire leadership for understanding the sensitive matter and returning the children to loved ones behind closed doors and quiet talks.
“I commend the leadership and persistent diplomacy of Russia and Ukraine in the pursuit of the reunification of kids and families,” she added.

The First Lady similarly praised the collaborative efforts and cooperation that would continue to drive the process even further and into the next phase. Melania’s upbeat tone was a huge surprise for some, as many felt that Russia and US relations were strained, as Trump was not happy with Putin failing to reach a peace agreement despite Trump’s efforts. Moreover, Trump had just shared during a press briefing how he had no idea what the Kremlin was doing and why.
