A global race has now emerged against the clock to try and stop the spread of hanta virus after the rat bug infected a cruise full of 40 guests who traveled to all corners of the world, including the US and UK.
{img}The WHO says there might be rare human-to-human transmission of the hantavirus on the Dutch cruise ship where three people were killed.
The virus is usually spread from rats, but in this instance, it seems to have spread from very close contacts aboard the MV Hondius Vessel. It is now therefore stressed how the risk to the public is so low.

Testing is currently taking place for other crew members and passengers showing symptoms.
