A former British police officer evacuated from the Cape Verde-bound vessel that fell victim to an outbreak of hantavirus has now been named.
The outbreak has so far claimed nearly three lives and left several people infected as it emerged on the MV Hondius cruise ship last Saturday.

Martin Anstee, who is a 56-year-old expedition guide, was reportedly one of the three patients evacuated from the vessel on Wednesday morning.
He was airlifted off the ship and is now in a stable condition at Amsterdam Hospital, after which his wife described the whole scenario as the most traumatic few days.

The three passengers who passed away from this outbreak have now been identified as a Dutch couple aged 70 and 69, as well as another German national.
More than 20 British passengers were among the 150 from 23 different countries trapped on board the stranded ship off the coast of Cape Verde.
