Family of homeless woman found in tent with dead baby after secret birth reveal heartbreaking truth behind her ordeal

The devastated family of a woman who secretly gave birth to twins in a tent where one baby later died has now chosen to break the silence to shut down online lies, sharing how they had no idea about her pregnancy.

Emergency services were seen attending to Wagga Beach at Cadell Place in Wagga Wagga, regional NSW, after the woman's partner called triple zero on Saturday.

A 37-year-old woman was found at the scene alongside the body of a baby and her twin, who was still alive.

Paramedics treated this woman and the surviving baby at the scene before rushing both to Wagga Base Hospital in critical condition.

The grim discovery was made at a makeshift homeless camp on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, which is an area locals claim has become a home for people struggling amid the region's housing crisis.

The woman was believed to be living at the camp with her partner for nearly five months.

She does have other kids who didn't live there, and was known to the Department of Communities and Justice.
