A North Carolina mayor was seen sharing how his wife needed medical care after she was bitten by a giant copperhead snake.
"So, the word has gotten out that my sweet wife was bitten by a giant copperhead last night,"- Monroe mayor Robert Burns mentioned in a post on X. He shared that they rushed his wife, Lauren, to the local ER, where he praised the staff as absolutely amazing.

They were very kind, helpful, and responsive as well as fantastic, he continued. They strike in an immediate manner, giving almost no warning. While the bites are hardly ever fatal, they could be so painful, causing fast tissue damage.
Lauren was reportedly bitten while she was walking through a wooded area on the property while talking on the phone. All the mayor heard was her saying that this is not good, it's not good. And she rushed inside the home, explaining her snake bite.

The mayor says he witnessed the two bleeding puncture wounds on her left ankle before finding the mega 4-foot snake nearby.
