In the wake of the shooting at the White House Correspondents' dinner, top Republicans wished to use $400 million in taxpayer funds on President Trump's White House ballroom project.
They argued more about how the new building is crucial for national security. The news comes despite promises made in the past by the president about how the ballroom would be entirely funded through private donations.
"It's quite difficult to have a number of crucial people in the same location unless it's really, really safe"- Senator Lindsey Graham mentioned to reporters on Monday. She reminded the world that the times that we're living in right now are very unusual. And the sense of threat felt today by politicians is greater than before.
The news comes just a day after Trump revealed that the shooting which happened at the White House dinner was another reason why the ballroom must be constructed, but remained hush on whether or not taxpayers would be funding it.
