A 21-year-old man from Austria has been admitted to plotting a major jihadist attack on a Taylor Swift concert in Vienna in August of 2024.
The man named Beran A also shared more about how he was part of a large terrorist organization, but he denied other charges, including involvement in planning an attack in the Islamic holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia.
The state prosecutor mentioned to the court how the police had found an almost completed bomb during a search of the man's residence.
Beran A was arrested after a tip-off from the CIA just before Swift's opening concert in Vienna in 2024.
As a result, all three sold-out gigs by the American superstar singer at Vienna's Ernst Happel Stadium got cancelled. More than 195k in total had been expected to be in attendance.
