Powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake strikes a week after huge tremor sparked tsunami and megaquake warning

Shocking reports are speaking about Japan being hit by another powerful earthquake today.

Local media outlets shared more about how the inland quake struck nearly 11 miles of the small town of Sarabetsu on Japan's northernmost main island of Hokkaido at a depth of 50 miles at 5:23 am local time.

So far, Japan's Meteorological Agency has rolled out no warning of a tsunami after this, but did reveal that it was 6.4 in magnitude. No reports of any casualties or damage from this quake have been reported yet.

The news comes just a week after a massive 7.7 magnitude tremor sparked a huge tsunami and prompted Japan to roll out an advisory of a possible megaquake.

The JMA mentioned more about how this morning's quake was outside of the area subject to a megaquake advisory and that the special awareness week is set to end as planned.
