Trump has shared what First Lady Melania Trump told him just after bullets were fired at the Washington Hilton Hotel during the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
'It's always shocking when things like this happen,'- the President mentioned at the White House press briefing in the West Wing within an hour of the violence.
{img}He added that the fact that they were seated next to one another, Melania to his right, and he heard a noise, the president added. They thought it was either a bullet or a tray, he mentioned.
Trump then mentioned how Melania recognized the sound as a bad noise and added that it was a very traumatic experience for her.
"Melania was very cognizant," he shared. The president asserted that his wife's fear for his safety was high after he survived several assassination attempts against him.
