The star actress reunited with American Eagle to promote its new denim shorts collection. The campaign dubbed Syd for Short hid on social media platforms and newsstands on Wednesday with a short video starring the actress in her element.
She appeared beautiful and inscrutable as ever. Looking dead straight into the lens of the camera, she mentioned, 'What brand am I wearing?'
Her signature blue jeans, white top, and blonde hair were up on display as before, as she put on a shrug and a cheeky smile while giving a non-answer to her own question. 'Yeah, that one!'- she continued.
This line only made sense as a reference to Sweeney's existing links to the brand. Their 2025 collaboration drew mega backlash for a pun that conflated her gorgeous looks and related jeans to her genes, hinting at preferable genetics. While the brand denied that it was the case, the world felt otherwise, forcing American Eagle to issue an apology.
