SNL 'goes too far' as they are hit with huge backlash over Donald Trump assasination quip

Saturday Night Live might have put itself in hot water after a shocking new clip showed them portraying Donald Trump's assassination.

The news comes after cast member Michael Che made a joke during the Friday weekend update segment that many viewers interpreted as a reference to the killing of Donald Trump.

The bit arose after Trump attended the opening night of Chicago at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington earlier this week.

Che opened with what appeared to be a straightforward comment. Trump attended the opening night of Chicago at the Kennedy Center, and I think it was cool, Che mentioned.

"The president is going to the theater, I mean, what's the worst that could happen?"- he chuckled.

This is the point where those in the live studio laughed, but online, the reaction was more pointed, with many slamming the show for crossing the line.
