A woman from Florida was recently awarded a staggering $14 million judgment after she unknowingly swallowed a series of metal nails and shards that were hidden inside a serving of ice cream.
Her injuries left her unable to have children, local media outlets shared.
{img}Brandy Buckley shared more about her harrowing encounter that day, where she pulled up to the drive-through window of a Bruster's Ice Cream shop in Palm Bay and ordered what should have been a routine dessert. This included her favorite butter pecan ice cream.
Instead, the dessert was reportedly laced with several metal nails and shards as per the bombshell lawsuit that was filed in the Brevard County state court.
{img}She shared more about how she took a bite of the ice cream when her son also asked if he could get a taste. "I got towards the light to scoop some of this ice cream out and I was mortified"- she revealed. There was a metal nail in the cone, nearly embedded inside. She did feel something strange at first, but had no clue about the hazard. She swallowed; she felt something stuck in her throat. Assuming it was a pecan, she went to the hospital to get an x-ray and that's when the horror was revealed. As a result, she suffered serious head and neck injuries and severe disfigurement that haunts her till today.
