Southwest Airlines' latest controversial customer of size policy is going viral for all the wrong reasons.
It's safe to say that people are not happy with the new change that discriminates against overweight passengers and forces them to pay nearly $1000 extra to travel when compared to another passenger of lesser weight.

The policy dubbed fat tax online states that overweight customers need to buy additional seats. But many are now questioning the lack of clarity and objective criteria.
It needs plus-size travelers to proactively buy more seats and states that the airline can choose in its sole discretion who needs to buy the extra seat, citing customer safety and comfort as justification.

One woman says it's not fair that she's being forced to pay extra when she's a little overweight. She slammed the policy as rude and invasive, and urged authorities to intervene, as the rising costs of flying are making it hard for people her size to fly. "I was told that I would need an extra seat because I am wide at the bottom. They also assumed that I could not fit, which is not true,"- she furiously revealed.
