The noise that spooked spring breakers at Daytona Beach is now being revealed.
The incident reportedly caused a massive stampede over the weekend, and many assumed it was gunshots, as shared by the police.

The panic-causing matter had a much safer origin, and it was said to have occurred due to people crushing water bottles. There were zero gunshots on the beach, the Sheriff's department confirmed.
The news comes after a viral video on Monday showed hundreds of terrified beachgoers fleeing for their lives. Chitwood added that there were nearly 50 deputies in the crowd at the time.

"The incident was clearly driven by social media, and that is not good. Let's all go and invade Daytona," he mentioned.
So far, more than 80 arrests were made at Daytona Beach over the weekend, including six where weapons were seized. Most of them were linked to open alcohol container violations.
