After three episodes of Blind Auditions, many were stunned to see superstar Kelly Clarkson missing from the Battle Rounds that officially kicked off on March 16 on The Voice.
Clarkson was missing from the rehearsals, and instead, Jennifer Hudson was said to coach on The Voice herself. While Clarkson was back in her big red chair for the real competition, the reason she missed her rehearsals was heartbreaking.

It dates back to when they were filming, and she received the heartbreaking news that her former husband and the father of her children, Brandon Blackstock, had died.
He was said to be battling with cancer and chose to keep this aspect of his private.

Clarkson shared two kids with the late music manager and divorced him in 2020. "I really hated that I could not be there for Battle rehearsals, but I did get to see the video footage,"- the star shared.
Fans were glad that she's now back and will be featured in future episodes.
