The incident occurred on October 12 at Six Flags Over Georgia, where authorities identified the man as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem of Atlanta. According to the Cobb County Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3:58 p.m. and found Kariem beneath the roller coaster, unresponsive and not breathing.

Preliminary information gathered through interviews with witnesses and park employees indicates that Kariem was ejected from the ride and struck other riders before falling beneath the attraction. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident, and officials have not yet announced a definitive cause.

In a later update, police confirmed that four children were among those injured. All four were taken to different hospitals and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released their names or exact ages because they are minors.

The incident has also prompted wider safety precautions. Six Flags temporarily closed nine additional roller coasters across several parks while the situation is reviewed. The Goliath ride involved in the fatal incident will remain closed for now, with no confirmed reopening date.

Six Flags has expressed condolences to Kariem’s loved ones and said it is cooperating with authorities. As investigators work to establish exactly what happened, questions about the circumstances of the fall remain unanswered.
