A mother accused of killing her husband and their 3-year-old son reportedly made heartbreaking remarks to emergency medical workers after the two were found dead in a hotel room.
Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, is accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Charles Harrison, and their young son during an extended stay at Great Wolf Lodge. According to a police affidavit cited by the New York Post, Harrison called 911 on October 12 and told the dispatcher that her husband and son were already dead.
When emergency responders arrived, they found the father and child with multiple stab wounds to the chest. Investigators also recovered two knives and other items from the room as they worked to establish what happened.
As medics treated Harrison for injuries she had inflicted on herself, she reportedly spoke about how hard she had worked to be a good mother and wife. She said she had imagined having a happy family since childhood and lamented that things had not turned out as she had hoped.
According to the report, Harrison also made disturbing comments about wanting to die and join her husband and son. She was taken to a hospital and remains in police custody.
Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide. The case remains under investigation, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
Authorities described the deaths as a domestic tragedy and said there was no ongoing threat to the public. The resort has expressed sorrow over the incident and said it is cooperating with law enforcement.
The investigation is continuing as the family’s loved ones face the loss of a father and a young child.
