# The White House Has Found a Replacement for Karoline Leavitt as Press Secretary

The White House has found a potential successor to Karoline Leavitt, marking a new chapter for one of the Trump administration’s most visible communications positions.

Katie Zacharia, a conservative political commentator and former Department of Homeland Security spokesperson, has been offered the job of White House press secretary, according to multiple news reports citing administration officials. However, it was not immediately clear whether she had accepted the offer.

The position became vacant in late August when Leavitt stepped down after serving as President Donald Trump’s press secretary. She left the role to spend more time with her family following the birth of her second child in May.

Zacharia brings experience in Republican politics, government communications, and conservative media. She previously worked as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security during Kristi Noem’s tenure and has appeared on conservative television networks, including Fox News and Newsmax.

She currently serves as a senior communications adviser at Trump Media & Technology Group, the company behind Truth Social, Trump’s social media platform. She has also been associated with Fix California, a conservative organization founded by Ric Grenell.

If Zacharia accepts the position, she will take on the responsibility of communicating the administration’s policies, responding to journalists’ questions, and representing the president during media briefings.

The press secretary role is one of the administration’s most closely watched jobs, often placing its holder at the center of major political announcements and confrontations with reporters.

For now, the key question is whether Zacharia will formally accept the offer and when the White House will confirm its next press secretary.
