His wife announced the heartbreaking news in an emotional Instagram post on November 3, revealing that Marcel died on November 2 at 4:45 p.m.

“He fought so hard for so long. He was so tired and exhausted and in so much pain,” Taylor wrote, describing the final hours she spent with her husband.

She also shared that Marcel's final words to her and his brother, Dedric, were, “I'm ready to go.”

Marcel was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in August 2025. Rather than keeping his struggle private, he regularly shared updates about his diagnosis, treatment and life with his family.

Over the following months, his followers watched as he went through 25 rounds of chemotherapy. In September 2026, he revealed that he was too weak to continue treatment and that he was running out of options.

He later sought additional medical advice at City of Hope Medical Center in California before returning home and eventually entering hospice care.

His final social media post, shared on October 25, showed him smiling at home beside one of his sons.

Taylor's announcement has prompted an outpouring of condolences from people who had followed Marcel's journey and supported his family throughout his illness.

A fundraiser originally created to help with his medical expenses is now supporting Taylor and their five children as they face life without him.
