Amber Eggers, known for her appearances on the reality TV series “Love After Lockup” and its spinoff “Life After Lockup,” has died at the age of 41.
Eggers died Thursday, September 3, at an Atlanta hospital after being admitted several days earlier because she was feeling unwell, according to her mother, Monica Eggers.
Her mother told TMZ that Amber ultimately died from acute liver failure after doctors were unable to keep her heart beating. The news was also confirmed through tributes from friends and former castmates.
Eggers became known to television audiences in 2019 when she appeared on the second season of “Love After Lockup.” The series followed her relationship with Vincent Gonzalez, whom she met while serving a four-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. Gonzalez proposed to her during the show, but their relationship ended after her release.
Eggers later appeared alongside her former cellmate Michelle “Puppy” Deaton in the “Life After Lockup” spinoff. The two developed a close and complicated friendship that became another major part of Eggers’ story on the franchise.
Her death comes after a series of serious health problems. In 2025, Eggers battled severe pneumonia that progressed to sepsis and multiple-organ failure, requiring life support. She later recovered, but according to reports, she also suffered a mini-stroke before her final hospitalization.
